Camp Muskoka is very pleased to offer our campers even more fun and exciting experiences. Some programs are subject to availability and may be subject to additional fees, please see registration form for details.

Guitar Workshops

Strumming a guitar around a camp fire has been a summer camp tradition since the beginning of time. Each week several guitar workshops will be offered giving campers the opportunity to pick up new songs, chord progressions and riffs. Individual lessons will also be offered. Campers may bring their own guitars or sign out one of Camp Muskoka’s guitars. This program is included in standard camp fees.

Drum Making

The drum making program allows campers to create musical instruments out of nature. Campers will finish their drums with a traditional rawhide skin and will have the opportunity to paint and decorate their creation. Drum Making is offered to all campers age 10 and up, staying a minimum of 2 weeks for an additional fee.

Horseback Riding

All campers may choose to participate in Horseback Riding. Trail rides are offered weekly (weather permitting) for an additional fee. Campers will be shuttled off-site to a certified horse ranch 7 km down Fraserburg Road. Helmets are provided. Horseback Riding is offered for an additional fee.

Paintball
Running through the forest, ducking and weaving through trees, trying to figure out where the paint will fly from next is an exhilarating experience. Games are based on strategy and team building. All equipment, training, safety gear and 200 paintballs per session will be provided. This program is offered to all campers age 10 and up, for an additional fee per paintball session. Additional paintballs may also be purchased.

Mountain Biking

All campers may choose to participate in mountain biking. Camp Muskoka hosts several kilometers of mountain bike trails for the beginner, novice and adventure seeking mountain biker. Campers are required to bring their own mountain bikes and helmets to participate in the mountain bike program. It is highly recommended that all campers bringing mountain bikes have their bikes serviced prior to arriving at camp. All bikes are subject to an inspection and approval is required prior to permitting riders to partake in this program. This program is included in normal camp fees.

Music Recording Studio

Whether the camper wishes to simply get up and sing or play a musical instrument in a jam session, the musically inclined camper is sure to enjoy this program. The music recording studio is offered to all campers and is included in normal camp fees, however, it is recommended that studio time be reserved in advance.

Camp Outs

Camp Outs are another fun and exciting manner in which we foster our campers’ self-confidence and nurture their love for the great outdoors. All campers have the opportunity to escape the comforts of their beds and venture off into the wilderness on one of our exciting overnight out-trips. Prior to any out-trip, all campers will receive the necessary instruction to ensure that they have the skills needed to experience the trip safely and with confidence. All out-trips take place within the security of our very own 400 acre property and are included in standard camp fees.

Solos

Solos are another incredible out-tripping experience that offer campers an opportunity for
self-reflection. During a solo a camper will choose a remote location in the forest where they will spend some reflection time alone. They will be equipped with some basic tools (including a communication device), to spend a specified period of time alone with nature. These experiences provide campers with a deeper appreciation for the environment, an enhanced sense of self, as well as a great confidence boost from the knowledge that they did it on their own. Solos are included in standard camp fees.

Rock Climbing

Camp Muskoka is home to a beautiful 30 foot natural rock face that offers a variety of repelling and climbing features for the novice to experienced climber. Our certified, experienced climbing instructors will teach campers about safety procedures, climbing techniques and proper use of equipment. This program is offered to all campers age 10 and up for an additional fee.
